What is Forest Bathing/Therapy?

What is Forest Bathing/ Forest Therapy?

It is a mindful way of connecting with nature through our senses. By slowing down and tuning in, we awaken our natural creativity and imagination. There is no expectation of what you should experience—only an invitation to notice. Participants move between stillness and gentle playfulness, often walking just a few hundred feet to about a mile. Suitable for all ages and abilities, these slow walks sometimes lead to such deep calm that we simply stay where we began, resting with the forest.

How did you feel the last time you spent extended time outside??

Most people, even those without any knowledge of health science, will remember feeling healthy in some way. In the past few decades, there has been a massive amount of research done on the health impacts of spending time in nature. Research demonstrates that simply seeing the colors green and blue can ease our bodies toward relaxation. When we activate the senses of the body, we shift attention away from the cycle of thoughts that can often  initiate  the  stress  response.

Ready to give it try?

In  Forest  Therapy,  by  minimizing  cognitive  thinking  and  emphasizing  embodied  sensations,  guides  help  people  find themselves  here  and  now,  and  through  such  an  act,  come  more  fully  alive.  For  many  people,  this  can  be  the  most meaningful experience of all. Check out our services page to see what type of experience works best for you. I offer private walks, group immersions, walks for couples and nature centered coaching.
